Master of Counselling Student, Monash University, Hong Kong

Cindy was born and raised in Hong Kong. As part of her undergraduate degree, she had the opportunity to study in France, Finland and China. Having spent time in several countries, she’s learned about different cultures and value systems and has thus gone through personal culture-related conflicts. This has led her to a process of self-discovery, in which she’s come to understand that no one can be limited or defined by any singular set of values, as human beings are beautifully complex individuals with unique formative experiences. Her belief in such is the reason why she’s dedicated her life to helping others find their true selves. She’s passionate about becoming someone people can turn to and engage with for these difficult, yet ultimately rewarding, journeys of personal resolution. This is especially true for people she cares for, including her clients.

She has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents, particularly SEN students with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and behavioural problems, through her role as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader in church, personal growth coach in Hong Kong public schools and HKJC Youth centres. She has also expanded her coverage to family and elderly sectors during her clinical placements at an NGO for homeless people, a children’s learning centre, and an elderly care centre. Having attained such practical work experience, she is ever more convinced about the potential to change in every type of person.

Cindy is currently finishing her Masters of Counselling to round out her experience working with individuals dealing with relationship problems, loneliness, depression and general stress.

She is certified in the advanced level of Affective Disorders, Behavioural Problems and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by the Institute of Psychological Health of Hong Kong.

Cindy speaks three languages fluently – Cantonese, Mandarin and English, as well as basic Korean. Having spent the last 13 years as a Christian, she is very open to sharing her amazing experiences with God and knowledge about Christian values in the context of counselling for clients, if they would like to learn more.

Cindy is available to facilitate Mutual Benefit Therapy Practice (MBTP) sessions. Find out more HERE
