My Values & Beliefs

Value the innate ability of every human being to change

I value the innate ability of every human being to change and to continue to grow and learn throughout their life. No matter the environment or the setting, every person has the potential to effect positive changes in their life and to become empowered and strong in that learning.

Standard for excellence

I set a standard for excellence in providing the highest quality psychological services to all individuals and groups. My practice only includes those professionals who have been trained in mental health care or have appropriate accredited training in the workshops they are presenting. As a graduate of the Monash University’s Master of Counselling Course, I am the Clinical Supervisor for the Hong Kong English speaking Monash University online students, thus ensuring best practice is maintained.

Strong relationships and training

I value strong relationships and training as the primary vehicle in helping businesses and others to learn new ways of thinking, feeling, operating and behaving. This includes collaboration and partnerships with other groups to provide comprehensive mental health services and training to all individuals and groups.

Emphasis on prevention of mental health problems

I value an emphasis on prevention of mental health problems though education and intervention within the local community.

Respect the diversity of all individuals and groups

I respect the diversity of all individuals and groups. We expand our learning opportunities and global connections through the diversity of the cultures, languages, lifestyles and identities of all of our contacts, colleagues and partners.

  • It is possible to build on what you have, trust in yourself
  • People do not realise just how much strength and resilience they already have
  • Do not say anything is impossible – instead believe everything is possible and have a go
  • We all experience stress and anxiety at some level – it’s not something to hide – get help if you need to
  • You are allowed to be gentle on yourself, you are doing the best that you can and that is plenty good enough
